Check Out Philips New DesignLine 3D TV

Philips will release a new line of 46-inch and 55-inch 3D TVs later this year with Ambilight technology, that appear as a single plane of glass in front of a black gradient.

When the TV is turned off, it appears to have no frame. In fact, Mashable reported that they don’t have a stand and are sort of meant to simply lean against a wall. Although it is worth asking about how wires will affect the aesthetic.

These TV’s support 1080p 3D, and they offer a 1400 Hz “Perfect Motion” refresh rate. They also will feature that old Ambilight function which takes the colors on screen and splashes them on the wall behind the TV.

Looks like they’ll be released in Europe and Russia first. Check out the video here.
