Earlier this month we discussed a new 3D smart TV, the MiTV from Chinese maker Xiaomi, that features Miracast, WiDi, DLNA, AirPlay, WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
However, it was still uncertain the available size of the 3D TV or the price. We found out today that the TV will feature a 47-inch screen made by either Samsung or LG, for $499 dollars.
While the TV doesn’t appear to be available on Amazon just yet, it sounds like it will be coming stateside, and for that price it could wind up being a huge seller. It is also said to be great for gaming.
Naysayers are still calling 3D a gimmick based on losing 3D network broadcasts this year. However, based on the statistics we just read from Futuresource, 3D TVs look to become more pervasive in the mainstream home theater than ever in the coming years.
