Nintendo Slapped with $30 Million Fine over 3D Patent

Yesterday, a U.S. federal judge penalized Nintendo, makers of the glasses-free 3D handheld device Nintendo 3DS, $30.2 million dollars over a patent infringement. Inventor Seijiro Tomita was awarded the money for compensatory damages. Tomita originally filed for $292 million, or $9.82 for every Nintendo 3DS sold, according to PCMag.
